Six rental car companies operate on-airport at Akron-Canton, with counters in the terminal near baggage claim. The airport’s advice is straightforward: reserve in advance and list your flight information so the counter staff know when you are arriving. This guide covers the companies, their national reservation numbers, and the booking tips that matter at a small airport.

The Six Companies at CAK

The airport’s contact page lists these six on-airport rental car companies with national phone numbers: Alamo (1.800.462.5266), Avis (1.800.331.1212), Budget (1.800.331.1212), Enterprise (1.800.736.8222), Hertz (1.800.654.3131), and National (1.800.227.7368). These national reservation lines are the verified contact points on the airport’s current pages. Older cached versions of the airport’s transportation page showed local on-site numbers, but those no longer appear on the current page, so use the national numbers above rather than any local number from an outdated guide.

Reserve Ahead and List Your Flight

The airport advises travelers to make reservations in advance and include flight information so arrivals correspond with operating hours. This matters more at a small airport than a big one: counter hours are not guaranteed to extend for delayed flights, though rental partners will sometimes stay open up to an hour past closing. Booking ahead with your flight number on the reservation gives the counter staff the best chance of being there when a delayed flight lands. After you land, our CAK baggage claim guide covers the arrivals-area layout.

Where the Counters Are

The rental car customer service counters are reported to be next to the baggage claim area in the terminal, with a ready and return lot nearby. That layout detail rests on an older airport planning document rather than the current published pages, so treat the precise location as approximate: follow the terminal’s rental car signage after you clear baggage claim. For travelers comparing driving themselves versus renting, our CAK parking guide covers lot rates, and our CAK ground transportation guide covers taxis, buses, and shuttles.
