CLEAR operates at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) as part of the airport’s single consolidated TSA checkpoint, which opened with the new terminal in November 2025. CLEAR members verify their identity with biometrics at CLEAR pods or lanes, then go to the front of the screening line; with TSA PreCheck as well, it is the fastest way through PIT security. CLEAR Plus has been at PIT since December 18, 2023, and it made the move into the new terminal with everyone else. This guide explains how it works here.
How CLEAR Works at PIT
Head to the Departures level checkpoint beyond ticketing and look for the CLEAR signage among the lane categories (Standard, TSA PreCheck, CLEAR, Priority, Military and ADA, Crew, and Employee). CLEAR staff verify members using fingerprints or an eye scan, escort them to the TSA podium for document validation where required, and then into physical screening. CLEAR replaces the ID-check wait, not the screening itself: your bags still go through the new scanners with automated bin return. The airport’s homepage posts live wait times for the CLEAR lane alongside Standard, Priority, and PreCheck, which is a handy way to see whether the membership is earning its keep on a given day.

Enrolling at the Airport
You can enroll for CLEAR on-site at PIT: the airport authority notes that travelers can sign up for CLEAR or TSA PreCheck at kiosks on the Departures level, right before the screening checkpoint lanes. Enrollment needs a qualifying ID and takes a few minutes for biometrics; you can start the application online and finish at the airport. The airport does not publish the enrollment kiosks’ hours for the new terminal, so plan enrollment around a trip rather than making a special journey at an odd hour.

CLEAR Plus Pricing and Discounts
CLEAR Plus is a paid membership billed annually; at its PIT launch the published price was about $16 per month billed annually, and CLEAR’s pricing changes over time, so check clearme.com for the current rate before you budget. Discounts have historically been offered through airline loyalty programs (United and Delta) and American Express card benefits, and family add-ons are cheaper than a second full membership. One caution for Pittsburgh travelers: CLEAR’s value depends on your home airport having lanes, and PIT does, but weigh the membership against how often you fly from airports without CLEAR.
CLEAR Plus PreCheck: The Fastest Combo
CLEAR gets you to the front of the line; PreCheck changes the screening itself (shoes and belt on, laptops and liquids stay in the bag). Members with both use the CLEAR lane and then PreCheck-style screening, which is why frequent PIT flyers often hold both. Our PIT TSA PreCheck guide covers lanes, the new Touchless ID option, and enrollment, and our PIT TSA security guide covers the checkpoint’s hours, including its 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. closure, which applies to every lane.
Plan Your Trip with AirportGo
AirportGo is built for the whole airport journey, before, during, and after your flight. AirportGo does not offer an indoor map of Pittsburgh International yet, so at PIT the app is your trip prep companion: keep your flight details and membership notes in your trip tasks, build a packing checklist, and time your arrival to the morning bank. At airports where AirportGo maps already exist, the same app also guides you indoors from the door to your gate.
