Lost something at Akron-Canton Airport? Who to call depends entirely on where you lost it: the checkpoint, the plane, or the terminal. Those three paths use different contacts, and calling the right one first saves a round of referrals. The airport does not publish set lost-and-found office hours, so calling ahead is the reliable move rather than walking in and hoping.
Lost at the Checkpoint: Call TSA
If an item was lost at the security screening checkpoint, call TSA toll free at 1-866-289-9673. This is the number the airport’s own directory lists for checkpoint losses, and it reaches TSA directly rather than airport staff, who cannot search the screening area for you. Call sooner rather than later: items found at screening move into TSA’s system, and the earlier the report, the better the match. Our TSA security at CAK guide covers the checkpoint itself.

Lost on the Plane: Call the Airline
If you left something on the aircraft, contact the airline directly: items left in seatback pockets, overhead bins, or seat cushions stay with the carrier, not the airport. Have your flight number and date ready when you call. Our CAK baggage claim guide covers checked bags that do not arrive, which is a separate process from cabin items.
Lost in the Terminal: Call Airport Information
If the item was lost elsewhere in the terminal (restrooms, gates, concessions, curbside), call airport information at 330-499-4221, the number listed on the airport’s official directory page. Give a clear description of the item, where you think you lost it, and the date and time. Our CAK terminal map and layout guide can help you pin down which area you were in.

Found Cash: The 90-Day Rule
Cash found or turned over to the Airport Authority is documented with the finder’s information and held for 90 days. If it goes unclaimed after that period, it is donated to a charity the finder selects from a set list: the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, United Way, MAPS Air Museum, Arts in Stark, or the American Heart Association.
