Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) offers TSA PreCheck at its single security checkpoint, so members get the lighter screening drill before walking to their gate. The airport has hosted TSA PreCheck enrollment events in the past and says plainly on its own site: “we offer TSA PreCheck.” With one checkpoint to learn and typically short lines, PreCheck at CAK is a small time savings rather than a rescue mission, but frequent flyers still get the benefit of shoes-on, laptop-in screening.
Using PreCheck at CAK
PreCheck runs at CAK’s one checkpoint, located between the ground-level ticketing and check-in area and the gates. The PreCheck benefit is the standard one: keep your shoes on, leave laptops and the 3-1-1 liquids bag in your carry-on, and belt off only if it sets off the alarm. The airport does not publish dedicated PreCheck lane hours, so the safest assumption is that the lane follows general checkpoint operation on your travel day. For the checkpoint’s overall picture, see our TSA security at CAK guide.

How to Enroll
CAK has hosted TSA PreCheck enrollment events on site in the past, but the airport does not currently publish a dedicated enrollment center at the airport, so do not plan a trip to CAK just to enroll. Enroll through the standard TSA channels: apply at tsa.gov, complete the in-person appointment at a published enrollment location, and wait for your Known Traveler Number. If the airport hosts another enrollment event in the future, it will announce it through its newsroom. Our CAK departures guide covers check-in timing for PreCheck and standard lanes alike.
What the Line Is Like
Third-party wait-time reporting has described the CAK PreCheck line as roughly five minutes, though that figure is not official and the airport publishes no lane-hour schedule. Given the standard line is also typically short at a single-checkpoint airport, the main PreCheck value here is the easier screening process, not skipping a 45-minute queue. See our CAK terminal map and layout guide for where the checkpoint sits relative to ticketing and the gates.
