One hotel sits on Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) property, and the rest cluster a few minutes away in Moon and Coraopolis and around Robinson and Settlers Ridge. One important change first: the Hyatt Regency at the airport is no longer connected to the terminal by the enclosed moving walkway. That walkway served the old terminal. Today the Hyatt runs a free shuttle around the clock, 4 to 5 minutes each way on a private road. Any booking site still advertising a walkway connection is out of date. This guide covers the Hyatt and the shuttle hotel clusters.

On-Airport: Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport

The Hyatt Regency (710 Aviation Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15231; 412-329-7700) is the closest hotel to PIT, on airport grounds, with 338 rooms and an on-site restaurant, bellfarm Kitchen | Bar. Its complimentary shuttle runs 24/7 between the hotel and the terminal, and the airport’s roadway guides also list the Hyatt shuttle for Departures and Arrivals pickups. For very early departures or very late arrivals it remains the lowest-stress option: no rental car, no parking math, and a five-minute ride. Book the shuttle timing with the front desk when you check in, especially for departures before the first flight banks.

Closest Clusters: Moon, Coraopolis, and Robinson

The airport’s own list of permitted hotel courtesy shuttle operators covers the nearby clusters. In the airport and Moon/Coraopolis corridor, roughly 2 to 6 miles out: Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport, Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Airport, DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Airport, Homewood Suites, and Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport. Around Robinson and Settlers Ridge, roughly 5 miles out with the Mall at Robinson and Settlers Ridge shopping next door: Hampton Inn and Suites Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge, a second Courtyard by Marriott at Settlers Ridge, and Hyatt Place Pittsburgh Airport / Robinson Mall. Being on the airport’s permitted operator list means the shuttle may pick up at the Ground Commercial Curbside; it does not mean PIT publishes their schedules, so confirm shuttle hours, first and last runs, and where exactly to stand with the hotel before you rely on them.

Shuttle hours are the detail to pin down: PIT lists these hotels as permitted courtesy operators but does not publish their schedules, and first runs matter for 6 a.m. flights. As one example of the pattern, a current listing for the Hyatt Place at Robinson Mall shows its airport shuttle running from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. on request. Call your hotel the day before, confirm the first shuttle and the pickup point on the Ground Commercial Curbside, and keep the airport’s general information line, (412) 472-3525, as a backup.

Staying Downtown Instead

Pittsburgh itself is about 17 to 19 road miles east of the airport via I-376, roughly 25 to 35 minutes by car and about 45 to 50 minutes on the 28X Airport Flyer bus, which boards at Door 9 on the Ground level and costs $2.75. Staying downtown makes sense when the trip is about the city and your flight times are civilized; staying at the airport makes sense for early departures, late arrivals, and winter weather insurance. Our PIT ground transportation guide compares the bus, taxi, and rideshare options, and our PIT arrivals guide covers pickup logistics if someone is collecting you instead.

Plan Your Trip with AirportGo

AirportGo is built for the whole airport journey, before, during, and after your flight. AirportGo does not offer an indoor map of Pittsburgh International yet, so at PIT the app is your trip prep companion: keep your hotel and shuttle details with your flight in one place, build a packing checklist, and set your wake-up around the first shuttle, not the flight. At airports where AirportGo maps already exist, the same app also guides you indoors from the door to your gate.
